Garlic powder 0.2% allicin is an off-white to light yellow coloured powder extracted from the bulb of the Allium sativum L.

Studies have repeatedly shown that garlic reliably reduces total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein, whilst increasing high-density lipoprotein. Garlic can also induce fat loss and adrenaline secretion in a minor way and appears to mildly and unreliably reduce triglyceride levels.

Garlic supplementation can notably cause a reduction in blood pressure, especially in people with hypertension. Interestingly, two separate studies have also found that people who regularly take garlic extract supplements have reduced rates of getting the common cold.

Garlic’s main mechanism involves a molecule called allicin. This molecule turns into a number of volatile compounds containing sulphur which in turn release hydrogen sulphide. This molecule contributes to the hydrogen sulphide system which is linked to the relaxation of blood vessels and several other health benefits.
